The draw is done, you opened the results, and found out who you picked. Now what? Don’t worry — participating in Secret Santa is easier than it seems. This guide will take you from the draw to the reveal without a hitch.
1. Check the budget and date
Before anything else, remember the agreement: how much to spend and when the reveal is. These two numbers guide everything else. If you’re unsure, check how to set the budget with the organizer.
2. Find out what the person wants
The worst strategy is to buy what you think is cool. The gift is for someone else. To get it right:
- Check the wish list, if the group is using an app. It’s the safest route.
- Observe the person's daily life: what they use, comment on, or like.
- Use the anonymous chat to start a conversation and discover preferences without revealing yourself.
3. Give (and gather) hints without giving yourself away

4. Shop early
Don’t wait until the last minute. Stores get crowded close to the date, and if it’s long-distance, shipping might be delayed. Shopping early avoids the last-minute panic.

6. Get ready for the reveal
